I don't have a Kindle Fire, but I am using an iPad to read gaming PDFs and it works great. From what I've seen of the Kindle Fire, it should read PDFs just fine, but you might want to head over to their forums to ask.
It works rather well. The built in PDF app works great, but doesn't support bookmarks. However the screen size and horsepower makes the experience pretty nice. (In all honesty I would've been happy doing PDFs on my Kindle 3 had it been able to render pages faster.)
Full Disclosure: To support my addiction...er... hobby, any links to a product are more often than not affiliate links to DriveThruRPG, Amazon, or another site.
